The Science Museum of Virginia Foundation, the 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization supporting the Science Museum of Virginia, is getting a new leader. Martha Quinn is coming onboard July 1 to grow the Foundation’s fundraising team and increase philanthropic capacity.

After an extensive search, Quinn was selected as chief development officer based on her two decades of experience in the healthcare and educational fields.

“I’m very excited to support the Science Museum’s community outreach efforts,” Quinn said. “I look forward to developing a strong partnership between the Foundation and Science Museum, and I’m confident I can build on the Science Museum’s stunning recent success.”

Throughout her career, Quinn has held senior positions with Johns Hopkins Hospital, Children’s National Health System and the VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her most recent endeavor was at Virginia Tech, where she served as the assistant vice president of advancement.

Quinn has degrees in animal science and animal nutrition from Virginia Tech. She serves on the boards of the National Association of Cancer Center Development Offices and the Virginia Repertory Theatre.

“Martha has the drive, experience and vision to make a big impact,” said Science Museum Chief Wonder Officer Richard Conti. “She will be an integral part of our leadership team.”

Since it was founded in 1972, the Foundation has supported the Science Museum’s educational offerings, operations and capital projects.
