Liberty or Death Reenactment in honor of Presidents Day
Nine professional actors in 18th century costumes portray delegates to the Second Virginia Convention of March 1775, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Richard Henry Lee, and Patrick Henry. Watch as they debate Henry’s resolutions to arm the colony of Virginia and hear Henry’s great speech concluding with the immortal words, “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death!”

Opened in 1741, St. John’s Church was the location of the Second Virginia Convention, where Patrick Henry gave his “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” speech on March 23, 1775. Located at 2401 East Broad Street, Richmond VA 23223.
